Class description: Go shopping for ingredients used in traditional Japanese cooking with your instructor and learn how to transform them into tasty home-style dishes with a difference. Get tips on how to select ingredients that are healthy and good quality, and ideas on how to substitute those hard-to-get Japanese ingredients with readily available grocery items. Take the mystery out of those unusual Japanese ingredients, while learning alternative ways to use common ingredients such as tofu. The class consists of a shopping trip to your nearest Japanese ingredient supplier (1 to 2 hours), followed by a private cooking class in your own home kitchen or at our Torrens (Woden area) venue.
