Japanese cooking classes - IMPORTANT INFORMATION for attendees

ALL OUR CLASSES WILL NOW BE OFFERED IN AN ONLINE FORMAT. CLASSES ARE EXPECTED TO BE LAUNCHED IN AUGUST 2023. NO BOOKINGS ARE CURRENTLY BEING TAKEN. PLEASE REFER TO WEBSITE OR SUBSCRIBE TO OUR MAILING LIST FOR UPDATES.
 

Please read and understand the following information before enrolling in and attending our classes:

  • Bookings close 7 days prior to the class date, or otherwise specified. Payment is required at the time of your booking to confirm your booking. We will advise you on payment methods available when we receive your request. Cancellation fees may apply from 7 days prior to the class date. Please enquire with us for details.

  • Our online classes are held via Zoom. To make the most of our classes, you will require a reliable internet connection with sufficient download limits and a PC or tablet with camera. We are not responsible for any technical issues that prevents you from attending our classes or getting the most out of our services.

  • Before attending the class, you will be required to organise at your own expense the food ingredients used in the class. We may be able to organise for you the purchase and delivery of ingredients that are difficult to source. Please enquire with us. 

  • You must disclose all known food allergies and intolerances you have at the time of booking. Please enquire with us before you book, if you are unsure. You are not permitted to participate in our classes if you suffer from severe or life-threatening reactions to certain food items (e.g. nuts, soy, wheat, gluten, buckwheat, sesame, egg, seafood, yeasts).

  • Please enquire with us before you book, if have any particular dietary requirements, e.g. vegetarian. Given the wide range of ingredients used in traditional Japanese cooking, we cannot guarantee that your particular dietary requirements will be fully met at the class, especially for very strict dietary requirements, e.g. vegan, 100% wheat-free, or 100% soy-free.

  • Our classes are suitable generally for ages 16 years and over. Young children may attend only in thr constant presence of a supervising adult.

  • Please wear comfortable clothing that you do not mind getting potentially stained during cooking lessons, and bring your own aprons (we do not have aprons for rental).

  • Please wear covered, non-slip footwear that is sufficiently comfortable for you to be on your feet for extended periods of time.

  • Be sure that any electronic devices you need to use at the class are fully charged or placed where you are able to charge it during class.

  • Video recording during classes is permitted for personal use only; you are not permitted to upload your video to the public domain, e.g. YouTube, Facebook, unless you have obtained written permission from us in advance.
