Japanese food education classes - IMPORTANT INFORMATION for attendees

Please read and understand the following information before enrolling in and attending our classes (applies to group, private, public venue and home-based classes):

  • Bookings close between 1 month and 1 week prior to the scheduled class date as specified for each class. Payment is required at the time of your booking to guarantee a place in the class. We will advise you on payment methods available when we receive your request. Cancellation fees may apply from up to 4 weeks prior to the scheduled class date. Please enquire with us for details.

  • You must disclose all known food allergies and intolerances you have at the time of booking. Please enquire with us before you book, if you are unsure. You are not permitted to participate in our classes if you suffer from severe or life-threatening reactions to certain food items (e.g. nuts, soy, wheat, gluten, buckwheat, sesame, egg, seafood, yeasts).

  • Please enquire with us before you book, if have any particular dietary requirements, e.g. vegetarian. Given the wide range of ingredients used in traditional Japanese cooking, we cannot guarantee that your particular dietary requirements will be fully met at the class, especially for very strict dietary requirements, e.g. vegan, 100% wheat-free, or 100% soy-free.

  • Our classes are suitable generally for ages 16 years and over. We are unable to accommodate young children given the inherent dangers of the kitchen environment.

  • Please arrive at the venue 10 minutes before the advertised starting time, e.g. “6:30pm” means the class will commence at 6:30pm.

  • Please wear comfortable clothing that you do not mind getting potentially stained during cooking lessons, and bring your own aprons (we do not have aprons for rental).

  • Please wear covered, non-slip footwear that is sufficiently comfortable for you to be on your feet for extended periods of time.

  • Be sure that any electronic devices you bring along to classes are fully charged; you will not be able to plug your devices into a power supply at the venue.

  • Video recording during classes is permitted for personal use only; you are not permitted to upload your video to the public domain, e.g. YouTube, Facebook, unless you have obtained written permission from us in advance.

For further details, please refer to our Terms and Conditions (Food Education Classes).
