Coming soon: online shop for Japanese traditional craft items
We are pleased to announce that we will be launching our online shop for traditional Japanese craft items during October this year. Beautiful items on offer will include ceramics, textiles, lacquerware and metalcraft, all individually handcrafted by traditional artisans in regional and country areas of Japan. We have sourced all items by personally visiting craft workshops in Japan, and most items are one-off works that are not mass produced, so your piece will be truly unique.
Many of the craft traditions we support are in danger of extinction over the coming years due to aging, lack of young artisans, and hardships resulting from declining economy and natural disasters. Your purchase will directly benefit the artisans and their communities, in the hope that the time-honoured craft traditions will continue for future generations to experience and enjoy.
